Routers will need to be registered through SelfReg while hubs and switches do not. Many of the rooms currently being used as doubles have only one network jack, and most triples have only two. Switches and splitters are used to provide as many internet connections as there are residents in a given room.
Splitters
Splitters are available at the Co-Op for $7.95, and it is the responsibility of the student to purchase these. Only Co-Op splitters will work on theUConn network.

- Alumni
- East
- Buckley
- McMahon
- Hale
- Ellsworth
- North
Switches
Switches are provided by ResLife and should be present in all rooms that require them, along with a network cable and power supply. ResNet formerly handled part of the switch replacement process, but it is now dealt with entirely by ResLife.
The following dorms require the use of switches:
- Busby Suites
- Hilltop Suites
- Triples or Quads in Towers, North, Alumni, or South
Requests for a replacement switch should be directed to your complex office.
