Accessing the Network
- Configure Network Settings
- Open System Preferences located in the dock. It's listed by default. Look for the icon with a light switch and the Apple logo. Or click on the Apple logo on the top taskbar.

- Under Internet & Network, open Network.

- On the TCP/IP tab, "Using DHCP" should be listed under Configure. If it is not, select it and you should automatically be assigned an IP address. There should also be a listing for subnet mask and router. If you're configured correctly and have been registered, your IP address should be 137.99.xxx.xxx, where the x's are replaced by any digits. If after a few minutes you still do not see this change then you may want to try restarting the machine. It should resemble the screenshot below:

- On the PPPoE tab, uncheck any boxes that have been checked. It should resemble the screenshot below:

- On the On the AppleTalk tab, you can check the first box Make AppleTalk Active and you should see your relative locations displayed in the AppleTalk Zone. If you can see this, then you definitely have a connection to the network: tab, you can check the first box Make AppleTalk Active and you should see your relative locations displayed in the AppleTalk Zone. - On the final tab, Proxies, all boxes should be unchecked except for Use Passive FTP Mode (PASV):

- For all tabs, before you close them be sure to click the Apply Now button at the bottom of the tab after you check each setting. This will ensure that you have properly configured your Mac for use on the UConn Network.
